My Favourite Drugstore Products...

Hello lovelies.

There's nothing I like more than spending ages walking around Boots picking up products I don't really need & having a heart attack when I get to the till. Don't get me wrong, I love my high end products too but drugstore purchases tend to make me feel a little less guilty and they're easily accessible on nearly every high street.

Here's my current drugstore favourites...

I picked this up a few weeks ago have used it every day since. It's a great inexpensive lip butter that leaves my lips soft & it tastes amazing. If you haven't tried this yet I really recommend giving it a go.

I only picked these up last week but I already love them. These have been doing the rounds on the blogsphere & it's easy to see why. As with any Barry M nail paint they last a good few days without chipping and this forumula is super shiny. I want every colour in the range!

This has been a firm favourite since Summer '12 and I still love it just as much. This great every day foundation provides medium coverage and leaves my skin with a healthy glow, just what iI need on these gloomy days!

I picked this up a few weeks ago and it's already been featured in a monthly favourites! This inexpensive eye primer makes applying eyeshadow a breeze and makes it last all day without creasing. I recently posted a full review of this product here if you want to read more.

I can't count how many times I've mentioned this product or featured it in a monthly favourites on this blog. This has been my go to mascara for well over a year now & I can't see that changing anytime soon. No other drugstore mascara adds volume and length to my lashes like this without clumping. I often try new mascaras but always come back to this when I need a mascara I can rely on.

Every blogger & their dog seems rave about this concealer & it's easy to see why. This must be my fourth tube of this concealer now! It covers and conceals blemishes and under eye circles great and the coverage is good enough to last all day. I'm sure you've tried it before but if not where have you been?!

This has been my go to gel liner for long lasting eyeliner & flicks for ages now and my first pot is still going strong. In the time I've owned this product I've tried high end equivalents such as Bobbi Brown & Mac and they have both dried out whilst this little gem is still going strong.

So there we have it, my current drugstore faves! I'd love to know what your favourite drugstore products are and what you recommend me to pick up. Boots currently have 3 for 2 on cosmetics so I can see a little splurge coming on ;)

Lash Fibres Review | Brush On False Lashes

I've always been a big fan of false eyelashes & I don't feel like I'm ready for a night out unless I'm wearing a pair. Sometimes I'd like to wear them during the day too but find them too much of a faff for everyday use so when I spotted this product I was very excited.

Lash Fibres promises incredible length & amazing volume when used in combination with your normal mascara.

Lash Fibres comes in a mascara like tube with a wand covered in fibres, the only thing I can think to liken the fibres to is candyfloss! You apply one layer of your normal mascara, a layer of Lash Fibres & then finish off with a final layer of your mascara. I found I had to work fairly quickly after applying the first layer of mascara as this acts like a glue for the fibres. Don't be alarmed by the white appearance of your eyelashes after applying Lash Fibres, the final coat of mascara sorts this out.

For reference I used Lash Fibres in conjuction with my favourite mascara, L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic. Personally I do think Lash Fibres does work, it does add volume and definition to my lashes. Do I look like I'm wearing false lashes? In my opinion, no.

Overall I do like this product for everyday use when I want some extra oomph but I won't be giving up on the false lashes just yet.

Lash Fibres is available at Superdrug priced at £9.99

I'd love to know if you've tried anything similar to this & if so what you thought of it.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Review | Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Primer

Hiya lovelies.

I was recently having a mooch around Superdrug as you do when I spotted this on offer, I was intrigued as I'd never seen an eyeshadow primer available in a drugstore before & I can't resist a bargain!

Rimmel have been on top form with the new releases lately and this is no exception.

The new Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Primer comes in a lipgloss style tube with a a sponge doe foot applicator. I'm not usually a fan of this type of applicator but I actually find it works really well with this product.

The formula is a white silicone based primer which when blended is almost invisible as you can see above. I personally have no problems with silicone based products but I know some people do react to them so it would be best to test this on your hand before applying it to the eye area.

I've given this a good road test both during the day and for going out and I can confirm it makes a wonderful base for eyeshadow and keeps my eyeshadow in place all day/night. Applying eyeshadow has become a breeze because there's no pulling or tugging of the eye area and it also intensifies the eyeshadow so less product is needed.

Overall I can't recommend this product enough. At last we have an eyeshadow primer readily available on the high street that does it's job & comes in at under a fiver. What more could you want?!

Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer is available here priced at £4.99.

I'd love to know what your favourite eyeshadow primer is, please leave me a comment below!

Review | Superdrug Volumising Hairspray - L'Oréal Elnett Dupe!

Hello lovelies, i hope you're all ok & having a good week!

I picked this hairspray up over 4 weeks ago now & I've used it every day since so I thought it was about time I shared it with you!

I\ve always been a big fan of L'Oréal Elnett, I've used it for years & always thought it was the best hairspray on the market. I was browsing Superdrug a while ago & spotted this on offer at 2 for £2.99, at first I thought it was Elnett on a mad offer!
Superdrug Volumising Hairspray.

As you can see the packaging is really similar to L'Oréal Elnett so you can't blame me for being a little confused for a nano second! What I really like about this product is the nozzle {how weird is that word!} it's really similar to the Elnett nozzle & I think it works really well. It's a diffuser spray so it mists the product onto the hair without dispensing too much product in one are leaving the hair crunchy & stiff.

I know I keep going on about how similar this is to Elnett but the scent is also very similar, I can't even begin to describe how it smells but if you've used Elnett you'll know what I mean. I find this hairspray really adds volume to my hair it last a good 6 hours before it begins to drop.

Overall I'm really impressed with this product, it does the same job as L'Oréal Elnett at a third of the price!

I can't find this hairspray on the website sadly but I'm sure it'll be available in your local Superdrug.

Priced at £1.99 per 200ml but it's regularly on offer so look out for deals in store.

What is your favourite hairspray?

Review | So... Sinful

Good evening dolls.

Whenever I see the brand So.... in my local Superdrug or Boots it instantly reminds me of my school days. So... was a big brand when I was 12/13 and many girls had a So... body spray in their schoolbag, me included! When Mimi contacted me asking if I wanted to try out a couple of So... products I couldn't resist, So... isn't a brand I would normally pick up as I associate it with teenage girls but I couldn't resist taking a trip down memory lane!
I was kindly sent the So... Sinful body spray & eau de toilette. The moment I saw the purple packaging I instantly recognised it from my school days, this was my signature scent when I was 12/13!

Here is how So describe So... Sinful:

'So…? Sinful is a combination of fresh strawberries and juicy pineapple for a fruity scent Followed by violet, water-lily and jasmine before over indulging you with a rich creamy vanilla and dark chocolate base for the ultimate sensual fragrance.'

I'm not very good when it comes to describing scents but I would I agree with the above, it's a very fruity sweet scent.

So... Sinful Bodyspray:
As mentioned above I used to use these in my teens & it's so weird how just a smell can evoke so many memories! I find the scent of this bodyspray quite strong for a bodypray, much stronger than say Impulse or something similar. I found the scent to be a little over powering at first but it weakened a few minutes after application. This bodyspray isn't probably something I will repurchase again but I will certainly use it after the gym or for everyday use.

So... Sinful Eau De Toilette:
Now for something a little more positive, I REALLY like this perfume! It's similar in scent to the bodyspray but it's alot lighter & fresher. The bottle isn't anything special but you wouldn't expect anything more considering the price tag. I've been using this as my everyday perfume since receiving it and the girls in the office were all asking what perfume I was wearing, they were shocked to say the least when I whipped the bottle out of my bag! If you're looking for a girly inexpensive everyday perfume then I would reocmmend giving the So... range a whiff next time you're in Boots or Superdrug. I'm so impressed with this perfume I'm tempted to pick up the others scents in the range.

Overall I really recommend the So... brand. If you're looking for some inexpensive gifts for a pre teen or teenager I would thoroughly recommend the body sprays & perfume, you can even buy the bodysprays in gift sets which would make a great gift for a birthday or stocking filler. I really like the perfume and have recommended it to so many of my friends. So... is a brand I have overlooked in the past 5 years as I've always associated it with young girls & my school days but I will certainly be checking the entire perfume range out when I'm next in Boots or Superdrug.

I'd love to know that scents remind you of your school days, I was a So, Charlie & Burberry Weekend girl myself!

Review: L'Oreal - False Lash Telescopic Mascara...

Good evening dolls, hope you're all ok and having a good week =]

A few weeks ago now I picked up a new mascara after being won over by the rather gorgeous Cheryl Cole advertising it on TV...
L'Oreal - False Lash Telescopic Mascara.

L'Oreal say:

'Get a lengthening false lash effect with False Lash Telescopic. The innovative lengthening fibre formula builds intensity. Lashes look elongated as if beyond their tips. The New Telescopic brush stretches every lash for an intense look.'

My thoughts:

I really really like this mascara. I have to agree with everything L'Oreal say above. Mascara is probably one of my favourite make up products and I never go a day without using it. This has to be in my top 3 'drugstore' (god I hate that saying!) mascara's of all time and believe me I've tried them all!
As you can see the brush is the artifical brush type which I'm not usually a fan of, I normally prefer the natural, bristle type brush. I find the comb works a treat by seperating and grabbing the lashes & it's small enough to use on the smaller lashes and even the bottom lashes. Onto some picture proof...

Before:

After:
As you can see (or at least I hope you can!) the mascara really defines my lashes and makes them look alot fuller. The colour is super black and whilst not being the most voluminous mascara I have ever used it certainly lenghens and curls my lashes really well.

Overall I cannot recommend this product enough, if you're on the lookout for a new mascara I would certainly give this a go. It may not be the cheapest drugstore mascara (there I go again!) but it is certainly one of the best I have tried.

Available from Boots & Superdrug priced at £10.99.

What is your favourite mascara?

My Winter Essentials...

Ahoy bloggerinos, I hope you're all well =]

With the dark nights drawing in & Christmas fast approaching I thought I'd show you some of my essential winter products. I use most of these products year round but find them most effective in the winter, my skin seems to feel alot drier in the winter and don't even get me started on chapped lips!

Haircare:

v05 Miracle Concentrate - I use this both as aa serum & leave in conditioner and it leaves my hair feeling unbelievable soft & healthy looking. Full review coming this week so keep your eyes peeled!

Aussie Take The Heat - A beauty blogger cult classic and for a very good reason. My favourite deep conditioner ever, nothing else leaves my hair feeling and looking so healthy & nourished. A must have!

Moisturisers:

Jergens Naturals Ultra Hydrating Lotion - This is my favourite everyday moisturising lotion. It absorbs quickly enough to be used in the morning when I'm in a rush but still leaves my skin feeling uber soft.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter - I've sung this products praises many times before, this has to be hands down my favourite body butter. This can take a little longer to absorb than most lotions but leaves my skin feeling baby soft and it smells amazing!

Lips:

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub: I get very bad chapped lips in the winter and this product sorts them out a treat. It gets rid of all dead skin, a must for me before applying lipstick.

Carmex: I'm sure you all know about Carmex so I won't bang on about it but this has to be my favourite lip balm ever!

Exfoliation:

Radox Shower Smoothie - I love exfoliating and this product makes the job such a treat. This shower gel smells gorgeous and has tiny exfoliating beads that scrub away dead skin. I also love that they have to state 'don't drink me' on the bottle!

St Ives Apricot Scrub - I have used & loved this product for many years, it leaves my face looking really fresh & dewy and feeling super soft.

Face products:

Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Oil - I have only recently discovered this product but it has already made a big impact on my skin. I use it a couple of times a week as a deep moisturiser leaving it overnight and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and looking radiant.

Superdrug Vitamin E Day Cream - This is a great everyday moisturiser. It contains SPF 15 which is important even in the winter months and it does a great job at keeping my skin in good condition without breaking the bank.

Face Masks - These are just a couple of the face masks in my collection. Once a week I treat myself to a mini at home facial starting with a face mask, Montagne Jeunesse being one of my favourite brands to use. They help to remove excess oil and draw out impurities, they smell lovely too!

What are your must have winter essentials?

Review: Superdrug Vitamin E Body Cream

Good evening ladies =]

I hope you're all well. I can only apologise for being AWOL recently, I've had so much going on recently and I haven't had time to blog but I'm back now & I have lots of blogging ideas!

I was recently in Superdrug on a mini lunch time haul, I actually went in to buy the Garnier 7 day moisturiser but I saw this was half price and I couldn't resist!

I have tried other products from this range and absolutely loved them so I was eager to give this a go.

Superdrug Vitamin E All Over Body Cream

The first thing that I noticed about this product was the size, the tub is huge, you get 475ml which is loads of product, I couldn't believe how heavy it was when I picked it up!

I have been using this twice a day for the past couple of weeks and I love it! I use it when I get out of the bath/shower and it leaves my skin baby soft. It's a cream rather than a body butter so it absorbs really quickly which is important to me, I'm normally running late for work in the morning and the last thing I want to do is wait for my moisturiser to sink in!

The smell is devine, I can't put my finger on the exact smell but it reminds me of vanilla/cocoa butter.

As you can see the consistency is really nice, it's not thick like a body butter but it's certainly thick enough to leave my skin feeling properly moisturised.

The only gripe I have with this product is the packaging. The lid doesn't feel secure and I'm always scared it's going to leak. I travel quite alot and for this reason alone I've been forced to keep it at home and not take it away with me. Maybe I just got a dud tub!

The best bit about this product has to be the price, it's currently half price at £1.49! Even the normal price of £2.99 is still very cheap for such a big tub and for a product that works really well.

Product: 9/10
Packaging: 7/10
Price: 9/10
Overall :9/10

I'm very impressed with this product and I'm certainly going to be trying other products from the range.

I'd love to hear if you've tried any of the products and what you thought of them!

Review: Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

Good evening ladies!

First of all I would just like to say thankyou for the amazing feedback on my previous post, I never expected such lovely comments and they really brought a smile to my face.

I've decided to review a product I've been loving for past month, it's become a new favourite of mine and I wanted to spread the love!

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser:

This actually comes in a box but I threw mine away, oops!

In the box you get:

Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser 200ml
Muslin Cloth

I picked this up about a month ago and I haven't stopped using it since.

Being a big fan of the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser I was very sceptical of this product, I didn't think that something that costs so little could be even half as good, how wrong I was!

The formula is quite thick and it covers really well. I use it every night to remove my make up and it does a really good job, I use it on my eyes and it doesn't cause any irritation at all.

Compared to the Liz Earle version it doesn't smell as natural, this cleanser smells like cocoa butter and it's quite an artificial smell, nice but artificial!
You get a massive 200ml of product, this has lasted me over a month and there is still loads of product left.
Overall this is a great product for the price. If money was no object then I would choose the Liz Earle version over this but with such a massive price difference I cannot justify the price tag of the Liz Earle version whilst I'm watching the finances!

Product: 9/10
Packaging: 8/10
Price: 10/10
Overall :9/10

Available at Superdrug, priced at £2.99

Have you tried this product yet or anything else from the Vitamin E range?
