Review: Rimmel 5in1 Nail Treat - Basecoat & Topcoat

Good evening dolls!

Am I the only one who keeps thinking it's Monday?! Not that I'm complaining =]

Here we have one of my new found favourite products....

Rimmel 5 in 1 Nail Treat - Basecoat & Topcoat.

What Rimmel say:

"Get smoother, stronger, longer, more moisturised and shiner nails."

I've been on the lookout for this product for ages, It's always out of stock at my local Boots & Superdrug. I eventually managed to track it down whilst on a weekend away with the boyfriend.

What I think:

I love this product!

Using it as a base coat ensures my polish goes on smooth and doesn't stain my nails. The top coat leaves my nails shiny and polish dries within a couple of minutes, this is very important to me because I paint my nails before bed! I've certainly noticed a big change in the condition of my nails, they feel alot stronger and break far less, something that was a big issue with me.

I'm not a fan of the brush. It's not the normal wide Rimmel brush, something which I love. The brush is much skinnier and it can take a while to apply the product.

Overall I would recommend this product. It's good value for money and rubbish brush aside it does exactly what it says on the er...bottle!

Product: 9/10
Packaging: 7/10
Price: 9/10
Overall :9/10

Available at most Boots/Superdrug stores priced at £4.59

Review: ELF 3pc Eyelid Primer Set

Good evening ladies!

After posting my latest ELF haul post many of you asked me to review the ELF 3pc Eyelid Primer Set.... so here goes!

I saw this on the site & couldn't resist trying it, I'd never really heard of an eyelid primer set before and this intrigued me!

As the name suggests you get 3 different shades of eyelid primer - Nude, Pearl & Champagne.

The applicator is a soft sponge, perfect for adding just the right amount of product to the eye area without wasting too much product.

Top to bottom - Nude, Pearl & Champagne.

My favourite shade has to be champagne, it goes well with most of my eyeshadow choices and makes the colour really stand out. I own the full size of Nude as ELF actually sell this separately on their site and it has been a long standing favourite of mine.

Application wise these go on a treat, they are lovely & creamy and you really don't need much product to cover the whole eye area.

I find that when I've used one of these my eyeshadow applies so much smoother and it lasts alot longer without creasing, something that is a real bug bare of mine!

Overall I cannot recommend this product enough, it's unbelievable value for money and if you've never tried an eye primer before & you're slightly worried about parting with too much money this is a great way to start.

Product: 9/10
Packaging: 9/10
Price: 10/10
Overall:9/10

Available at ELF priced at £3.50.

Impromptu Brighton Trip - August 2011

Good evening ladies!

On Wednesday afternoon my boyfriend surprised me with an impromptu trip to Brighton for 2 nights, I was so excited as I had never been to Brighton before! I had the Thursday & Friday booked off work but I didn't have anything planned, that soon changed!

We stayed at the Grand Hotel which was absolutely gorgeous!
The bed was huge, the room was lovely and the service was great.
On the second evening we sat in the hotel bar and there was a swing singer, he was really good and a little bit gorgeous!
The best part of the hotel was definitely breakfast! It was a buffet style breakfast and they literally had everything under the sun. I had a fry up & waffles with syrup, oops! =]

These are just a few of the gorgeous shops in the lanes, I was walking around pointing at everything saying "look at that, look at that!"

As you can see the weather on Thursday was typically British, rubbish!
We visited the pier and had lots of fun playing in the amusements & eating doughnuts. Tony spent £30 in a teddy machine and didn't win anything, he wasn't very happy!

I couldn't visit the seaside without having fish & chips so I insisted we had some for dinner, we went to Harry Ramsden's next to the pier.
I partook in the "Harry Ramsden's Fish challenge" and as you can see it was huge! Tony helped me rather alot and I got a certificate, please ignore the awful photo! The wind ruined my hair and make up!

I had a lovely time in Brighton and would certainly love to visit again. I felt like a princess being swept away for a surprise break, I have the best boyfriend in the world!

Ciate Freebie Alert! Marie Claire September 2011

Good evening ladies, I hope you are all well!

I was in the queue in Superdrug on Friday when this caught my eye, I did a double take & then made a dash for the magazine rack!

Marie Claire September 2011 Issue

This isn't a magazine I would normally buy & I've probably only bought it a handful of times in the past but it was the freebies that caught my attention!

Ciate Nail Polish 'My Fair Lady' - 13.5ml Full Size

How gorgeous is this!!!
There is also a purple shade available but me being the nude fanatic I am of course I opted for the Nude option!

I'll be doing a NOTD using this polish later this week so you can see how lovely it looks on =]

Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner - 50ml

I haven't tried this yet but I'm looking forward to giving it a go!

The Dove freebie was not included in all magazines, some only had the nail polish, what is that about?! Make sure to grab a magazine that has both!!

If you pick this up make sure you smell the 211 VIP perfume sample, I am in love with this and need to buy a bottle.

Marie Claire September 2011 edition is priced at £3.60.

Have you picked yours up yet? If so which nail polish did you opt for, or did you go for both?!

Review: Aussie Limited Edition Miracle Moist

Good evening lovely ladies!

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever! To cut a long story short my internet 'broke' last week and I've been super busy... but I'm back now! How I missed you all!

Aussie is fast becoming one of my favourite brands without a shadow of a doubt. Not a single product of theirs has ever let me down. To celebrate their anniversary Aussie have released limited edition bottles with their normal collection and here is what I picked up...

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner.

Here's what Aussie have to say:

"When you let your hair down, make sure it's soft, shiny and fabulously conditioned. These heavenly products infuse moisture into dry damaged hair, leaving hair quenched, lucious , smooth and conditioned faster than you can say 'shine on me"
What I think:

These products are fabulous!

These products are exactly the same as the original 'Miracle Moist' but with gorgeous bottles that look lovely in the bathroom.

The shampoo leaves my hair feeling squeeky clean and it smells gorgeous just like all Aussie products. The shampoo lathers well and this is important to me, if a product doesn't lather up my hair just doesn't feel clean.

The conditioner is just as good as the shampoo, I apply it and leave it for a couple of minutes before washing it out and it leaves my hair very soft and managable, a god send with someone with a nest like mine! =]

Product: 10/10
Packaging: 9/10
Price: 9/10
Overall: 10/10

Would I re-purchase? Yes!!!

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner cost £3.69 each, but they are often on offer in Boots/Superdrug.

( how lovely are the bottles! *squeel* )

I for one would like to wish Aussie a very happy anniversary, long may their amazing products continue!
