The Aussie Pub Quiz - October 21st 2011

Good evening ladies, I hope you all had a fab weekend!

On Friday evening I was very lucky to be one of a few beauty bloggers to attend the Aussie pub quiz that was held in the gorgeous Punchbowl pub in Mayfair, owned by none other than Guy Ritchie!

It was hosted by the dashing Adam Garcia and I'm sure you'll agree judging by the following picture he is bloody gorgeous. He was also very funny & charming, the perfect quiz master.

Here are a few pictures from the night...

Mini sparklers!
Me & the gorgeoussss Adam Garcia.

 Beautiful flowers =]

 Team names!

I'm sure you're all familiar with these - a selection of Aussie products.

I was on team '3 Minute Miracle' along with the lovely London Beauty Queen & The Style PA however our Australian knowledge wasn't quite up to scratch and we sadly came last =[

There was lots of yummy food to be had and far too much champagne was consumed throughout the night, something I very much regretted on Saturday morning!

We all received a goody bag at the end of the evening which was packed with some great Aussie products, most of which I already own but you can never have enough!

It was a great night and it was lovely to meet so many lovely bloggers! A massive thankyou to Aussie for inviting me and for such an entertaining night.

Review: Superdrug Vitamin E Body Cream

Good evening ladies =]

I hope you're all well. I can only apologise for being AWOL recently, I've had so much going on recently and I haven't had time to blog but I'm back now & I have lots of blogging ideas!

I was recently in Superdrug on a mini lunch time haul, I actually went in to buy the Garnier 7 day moisturiser but I saw this was half price and I couldn't resist!

I have tried other products from this range and absolutely loved them so I was eager to give this a go.

Superdrug Vitamin E All Over Body Cream

The first thing that I noticed about this product was the size, the tub is huge, you get 475ml which is loads of product, I couldn't believe how heavy it was when I picked it up!

I have been using this twice a day for the past couple of weeks and I love it! I use it when I get out of the bath/shower and it leaves my skin baby soft. It's a cream rather than a body butter so it absorbs really quickly which is important to me, I'm normally running late for work in the morning and the last thing I want to do is wait for my moisturiser to sink in!

The smell is devine, I can't put my finger on the exact smell but it reminds me of vanilla/cocoa butter.

As you can see the consistency is really nice, it's not thick like a body butter but it's certainly thick enough to leave my skin feeling properly moisturised.

The only gripe I have with this product is the packaging. The lid doesn't feel secure and I'm always scared it's going to leak. I travel quite alot and for this reason alone I've been forced to keep it at home and not take it away with me. Maybe I just got a dud tub!

The best bit about this product has to be the price, it's currently half price at £1.49! Even the normal price of £2.99 is still very cheap for such a big tub and for a product that works really well.

Product: 9/10
Packaging: 7/10
Price: 9/10
Overall :9/10

I'm very impressed with this product and I'm certainly going to be trying other products from the range.

I'd love to hear if you've tried any of the products and what you thought of them!

Review: 99p LA Colors Nail Polish

Good evening ladies, I hope you're all having a fab week =]

Today I wanted to blog about something I'm very excited about!

Last weekend I visited the new Westfields in Stratford, that place is amazing! I spent all day walking around, I must have walked about 5 miles and my feet were me killing after. Just as me and my friend were getting ready to leave we spotted a shop called Beauty Base and I just had to check it out.

Amongst bargain perfume and make up there was a whole section dedicated to LA Colors nail varnish, from a distance I thought it was OPI! There were well over 100 shades to choose from and I chose to try these 3 out as I didn't want to buy too many incase they were rubbish. Here are the ones I chose...

Red Carnation, Top Coat & Mauve Gauze.

I literally could have picked up at least 10 shades and I'm sorely regretting not doing so!

Red Carnation & Mauve Gauze.

.As you can see both shades are gorgeous. They were both opaque within 2 coats and applied like a dream.

The top coat dries really quickly, leaving the nails smudge proof and shiny within a few minutes.

I think the packaging looks expensive, it's basically the same as OPI at a fraction of the price. I also love the brush, it's wide and makes applying the polish fool proof.

Can you tell I love this nail polish?!?

The best thing about this product has to be the price.... every shade including base & top coats are only 99p each! Bargain of the year? I think so!

Product: 9/10
Packaging: 9/10
Price: 10/10
Overall :9/10

I'm going back to Westfields in a few weeks as some of the shops including Mac were still being built (I was  gutted about this) & I cannot wait to pick up a load more of this nail polish!

Have you tried LA Colors nail polish before and if so what did you think?

These are a few of my favourite things - September!

Good evening ladies, I hope you all had a fab weekend!

I don't want to sound like a cliché but I cannot believe it's October already! Where has this year gone?! I cannot believe it's time for another monthly favourites post!

Here are a few things I have been loving this month...

I've only just noticed the overload of pink packaging!

Batiste Dry Shampoo - X X Volume

Yet another dry shampoo to add to the collection! I love this, it leaves my hair looking fresh and clean with lost of volume on those days where I either can't be bothered to wash my hair or I'm running late for work.

Primark Deep Facial Cleansing Wipes

I probably shouldn't admit this being a beauty blogger but on some occasions when I'm either too tired or too drunk *tut* to take my make up off properly I make do with a quick wipe with a facial wipe. I know, I should hang my head in shame! I cannot believe the quality of these wipes, you get 2 packs for £1! Never again will I pay £5+ for facial wipes, I cannot recommend these enough.

Soap & Glory Hand Food

My hands have been feeling very dry recently and this has been a life saver! It smells gorgeous and it leaves my hands feeling lovely and soft without feeling greasy. These smaller sized tubes cost a couple of quid so I have one in my bag, one at the office and one on my bed side table!

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter

This has been a long lasting favourite of mine, it is my favourite body butter EVERRRR! It smells gorgeous, like all S&G products! It sinks into the skin really well and doesn't leave me feeling greasy and leaves my skin feeling amazing. My boyfriend has even commented on the smell of this and he never notices stuff like that! This is a must have product for me.

Barry M Nail Paints in Peach Melba & Raspberry

As I'm sure you all know by now I LOVE Barry M Nail Paints. The quality, choice of shades & value is unbeatable in my opinion. Peach Melba is a gorgeous nude/peach shade, perfect for warm weather and it looks great with a tan! Raspberry is a pinky red shade which is perfect for the Autumn, I love Autumn/Winter nail shades and I cannot wait to stock up on a few more!

Sleek Blush in Rose Gold

I wanted this blush forever, every time I visited my local Superdrug it was sold out, when I saw there was one left I grabbed it like my life depended on it! Alot of people have compared this to Coralista, I don't own Coralista so I can't do a comparison but this look similar in pictures. This has become my go to blush every morning for the past month, it leaves me looking glowing and fresh faced in the morning, something which isn't easy to achieve believe me!

17 Mirror Shine in Beehive

This is some what of a beauty blogger HG product and it's easy to see why. This is the perfect nude glossy lipstick which can be worn either during the day for a natural look or paired with a smoky eye for a stunning night look. I need to buy a second one of these as I've nearly run out.

What I've been watching: X Factor & The Only Way is Essex.

What I've been listening to: Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger & Delilah - Go.

Blogs I've been reading: Elle In Wonderland & Love Laugh Lauren

What have you been loving this month?
