2011 Resolutions ♥

I know... we make them every year & never stick by them, but this year I WILL.

I haven't chosen anything drastic or unrealistic & I hope I can look
back at this post in a years time & think 'yeah, I did those!' :]

Get Fit

I wouldn't say I need to lose weight but I certainly need to tone up & get fitter, sitting in an office day & eating cakes is NOT good!

Save For Vegas '12

I turn 21 in 2012 & would love to go to Vegas for my 21st birthday so this year I will be saving like a mad woman in order to go, this will be a toughie!

Organise

I really am the most unorganised person ever. My clothes are everywhere, I can never find papers when I need them & constantly lose everything so this year I will become more organised & have a massive clearout.

Drink More Water

Probably the easiest one here! I drink far too many fizzy drinks & I know it's not good for me, so this year I will be cutting these down & drink lots more water.

Learn To Cook

I can cook the odd meal & bake cakes but that's pretty much it, so this year I'm going to learn how to cook proper, healthy meals. I'm nearly 20 so I guess it's time I learnt, I won't be having mums cooking forever!

I'd love to know your 2011 resolutions, I'm a nosey sod :)

P.S This will be my last post before NY, I want to wish you all an amazing NY & hope you all have fun! (& don't have too much of a hangover on Saturday!)

A Day In My Shoes: #1

Last night I went to bed at: Around 1am, earlier than I have been over the festive period!

This morning I woke up at: I had to be up at 8am to go present shopping with my dad, not that I'm complaining!

I wore: Skinny jeans, striped t shirt, big comfy cardigan & black shoe boots.

My mood was: Excited, I was shopping for my Christmas presents with my Dad!

I should have: Tidied my room, It's a DUMP!

I Bought: Well, my Dad bought me a camera, does that count?!

Something really made me laugh today it was: My Dad being dragged around River Island & Topshop, he looked lost, bless him!

My Hair was: Just a simple pony tail, I was being lazy this morning!

This week I hope to: Blog lots, tidy my room & find some bargains in the sales :]

I stole this idea from Charly @ thebeautifulaccord, I'd love to see more people doing these!

Sunday update & an apology!

Hello my gorgeous geeks!

It's been a whole 2 weeks since my last post & I wanted to say a BIG sorry! I've only been blogging for a short time but it feels like I owe you an apology for being MIA but I've been so so busy!

I started my new job exactly 2 week ago tomorrow & I LOVE it. The people I work with are fab, the atmosphere is lovely & we have lots of girly chats every day. Oh... and we do some work too!

It was the work Christmas party on Friday and although I've only been there a short while I was invited & it was AMAZING. It was held at club On Anon in London which btw, If you haven't been it's totally worth checking out. The buffet was gorgeous & it was a free bar! (uh-oh!) I had quiteeee a bit to drink, but I don't think I made too much of an idiot of myself, other than some questionable dancing! Sadly I didn't get any pictures but I'm sure some will pop up & I will post some when they do!

Other than getting used to my new job I've just been getting ready for Christmas with lots of last minute shopping & preparations. Are you all set for Christmas? I NEED TO DO MY WRAPPING!!!

It snowed again last night so once again London has come to a stand still, but I kinda like it this time! I no longer work in London & can walk to work if I have to... & it feels kind of 'romantic' being so snowy over Christmas... fingers crossed we get some on the actual day!

I have lots of exciting posts planned this week & not forgetting the big announcement of my first giveaway winner! You still have time to enter so if you haven't already entered please do so!

So what have I missed? I'm off to read the blog updates over the past 2 weeks, this may take me some time, cup of tea & biscuits in hand!

NOTD: George @ Asda 'Deceit'

Hello dolls! I hope you all had a great weekend & the snow didn't ruin too many plans!

I was browsing in Asda yesterday & noticed the George make up stand, I've never noticed this before!

Naturally I looked straight at the polishes & I couldn't believe how cheap they were! All polishes were £1.50 & top coats/glitter were £1.00, bargain!

I only had a minute to browse so I grabbed one polish & the top coat...

'Deceit' & Top Coat

This winter I am loving dark grey shades, I have far too many!

The bottle itself doesn't look too tacky but you do only get 5ml of product, then again they're so cheap you could grab 2! Smaller bottles also encourage me to use up my collection rather than keep them forever!

I was really impressed with the brush, it had a slight curve to it which made applying the polish very easy. I don't know about other shades but I certainly needed 2 coats of polish, 1 looked quite opaque. The colour itself is a deep gunmetal with subtle shimmer, love!

The top coat is lovely & it left the nails very shiny. I'm not too sure how long it will keep my nails chip free but I will update in a few days!

Overall I'm very impressed, both products exceeded my expectations and they are certainly worth the price.

I'm interested in picking up other shades & more make up from the range, have you tried anything from George at Asda, if so what did you think?

Review: Boots No.17 Hide Away Concealer

Hello my gorgeous geeks, I hope you're all having a fab Friday!

I was browsing in Boots earlier this month & I noticed they had 3 for 2 on all cosmetics, like I need an excuse?

I'm constantly on a mission to find the perfect concealer so thought I'd give this a go...

Boots No.17 Hide Away Concealer

I was reluctant when I first tried it, I'm not usually a fan of concealers with a sponge applicator, I find them unhygienic! I get around this problem by swatching the product onto a clean hand & applying it from there.

The packaging itself is quite sleek looking, not as cheap as the £3.99 price tag would suggest!

I chose the shade 'medium' however it comes in light, medium & dark. Medium was a perfect match for my skin tone.

Before & After Blending

The product is surprisingly creamy and it covers well! I use it under the eye area, it makes me appear awake & hides any imperfections. If you're looking for a fuller coverage concealer for scarring/spots then I wouldn't recommend this. It lasts for around 6 hours, so although it isn't all day it lasts quite a while for the price!

Would I buy it again? Probably not. I want to try lots more, and although I did like it & use it regularly I'm not sure I like it enough to repurchase.

Available in most Boots stores, priced at £3.99.

What are your favourite concealers? Leave me a comment below!

Liz Earle: Cleanse & Polish - LOVE!

I know.... Yet another blog about this product, like you haven't read enough! This must tell you something... this many people can't be wrong! I have a new love in my life & it is...

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

After reading many blogs raving about this product I knew I had to try it out so I rushed to John Lewis about a month ago now & bought the starter kit.

In the starter kit you get...

1 x 100ml Cleanse & Polish (with pump dispenser)
2 x pure muslin cloths

The products are inside a handy bag all for only £13.00!

It's become somewhat of a cult product & I can see why. I have used it non stop for 4 weeks now & I couldn't imagine not using it! It removes my make up & leaves my skin feeling clean & nourished.

I find that one pump is enough to cover my entire face & remove any eye make up. I start by massaging it into my face & then finish with the eye area, I don't want to rub black mascara all over my face!

As you can see one pump is more than enough product, look at the state of that cloth! I try to use a different part of the cloth for my face & eye area.

After use I rinse the cloth under hot water to remove as much product as possible & leave it to dry on a radiator. I use the same cloth twice & then machine wash it.

The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that you cannot tell how much product is left in the bottle, I have no idea when I need to repurchase, which of course I will be!

I'm interested in trying other Liz Earle products, what would you suggest I should try next?

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

So... to some of my readers this may seem trivial, but... LONDON GOT SNOW!!

& the entire city shut down.

No buses. No trains. No taxis.

I needed that 4 hour journey home like a hole in the head!

I'm home now & not budging... so expect lots of updates over the next couple of days!

Review - CHI Silk Infusion

Hello my gorgeous geeks, I hope you've all had a fabulous weekend!

I was washing my hair this morning & I realised I've been using the same product for over a year now & I couldn't imagine washing my hair without it. That product is CHI Silk Infusion.

I decided to try this after I had seen it raved about on YT. I had real difficulty finding it at a reasonable price in the UK but I've managed to find a reliable stockist who sells it very cheap, more about that later!

The product itself is an oil & to me it smells quite masculine, I love the smell but it does remind me of a man, am I the only one who thinks this?!

I use it on wet/damp hair before blow drying, You literally need a tiny amount, the size of a 5p is plenty, any more and it will make your hair appear greasy. I comb it through the length of my hair with my fingers & use the excess on my roots. I then go on to style my hair as normal.

This product leaves my hair soft, shiny & manageable. I left my bottle on holiday in the summer & it was a travesty! I didn't think I relied on it that much until I didn't have it, It makes such a difference to my hair. I always make sure I have plenty, just in case I'm a ditz again & leave it somewhere!

I found my bottle on eBay after searching through countless websites & shops. I wanted to try the product before parting with alot of money & this eBay shop allows you to buy a small sample bottle for £1.99! Result! I say it's a sample bottle, but mine lasted for 20 washes, what a bargain!

Sizes/Prices:

CHI Silk Infusion 15ml - £1.99
CHI Silk Infusion 5 x 15ml - £5.99
CHI Silk Infusion 50ml - £7.99
CHI Silk Infusion 300ml - £25.99

Postage within the UK is £1.49 regardless of which product you buy. I have bought 3 items from this seller & they have all arrived with 2-4 days & they have all been in perfect condition.

I thought this post might be helpful for anyone who is looking to try this product but didn't want to spend too much money.

Have you tried any CHI products, If so what did you think?
