Glossybox - February 2012 Valentine's Edition...

Good evening lovelies, Monday is over, Yay!!!

I started my new job today & the day went super quick, never a bad thing for a Monday =]

I called my Mum at lunch to see if my Glossybox had arrived and when she told me it had I couldn't wait to get home & tear open the box!
As always the box was wrapped beautifully and tied with a ribbon. Part of the appeal of Glossybox has to be the packaging for me, if the products arrived in a plain cardboard box I would probably cancel my subscription, how shallow! This month the box has a Valentine's theme and the box is hot pink rather than the usual baby pink colour, I love the fact they have started to change the colour scheme with each theme, it makes each box just a tad more interesting.
Content & thoughts:

♥ FAB Gentle Body Wash: 'A moisturising irritant free everyday cleanser ideal for even the most sensitive skin.'  This product promises to cleanse, calm redness and relieve dry skin, what a perfect product for this time of year. I haven't tried this product yet but I have given it a whiff and it really doesn't smell of anything, strange!
♥ Devines Moisturising Balm: 'The authentic result of our commitment is a precious line of intelligent products, rich in natural ingredients.'  This is an all purpose balm that can be used on the hair, skin and body, how interesting! I'm really looking forward to trying this out and I will of course report back on the best ways to use it.
♥ Devines Cleansing Nectar: 'The authentic Devines formula for the beauty and delight of every woman.' Once again this is a multi purpose product that can be used to remove make up, to act as an all over body mask or to cleanse the hair. I've never tried a product like this before and it's another product that I can't wait to try. I'm not entirely keen on the smell, it's smells very natural and I do much prefer sweet smells but I'll give it a shot!
♥ Murad Skin Perfecting Primer: 'Oil free primer ignites a radiant glow powered by light enhancing minerals.' This was probably my favourite product from this box, my eyes lit up when I saw a primer was included! I was really shocked to see this was a skin coloured primer and not clear, all primers I have tried in the past have always been clear. I've tried this out and really liked the results but I will of course have to give it a proper road test before I can do a full review.
♥ Eyeko Skinny Liner: 'Get a handle on your eyeliner for precise definition and intense colour with a long lasting finish.' How beautiful is this eye liner?! I've never seen such a lovely looking eyeliner before! I was really chuffed that I received the light pink shade, it's a shade I would never buy but I was more than happy to receive. From what I've heard this shade is great for using on the waterline to make you look awake and for highlighting on the eyebrow. Much more interesting than yet another boring black liner!

Overall I was really impressed with this box. The novelty of receiving a beautifully wrapped box of goodies every month has not worn of yet and I already can't wait to see what will be appearing next month!

What did you think of the Glossybox this month?

These Are A few Of My Favourite Things... January 2012

Hello my lovelies, I hope you all had a great weekend!

I can't believe it's nearly February already, where did January go?!? Only 330 days until Christmas... =]

Here are a few of the things I have been loving this month...
 Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.
 Benefit Bella Bamba.
 Soap & Glory Pulp Friction.
  Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb.
 Soap & Glory Hand Food.
 Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle.
 Tangle Teezer.

Urban Decay Naked 2:

I can see this being a regular feature on many favourite posts this month & I can see! I have used this practically every day since purchasing it a couple of weeks ago and cannot see that coming to an end any time soon. I'm going to do a full post on this so I won't rattle on but if you were thinking of buying this palette I would strongly recommend it.
Viktor Rolf - Flowerbomb:
I was lucky enough to get this for Christmas & I have been loving it ever since. I don't use this everyday because I know it is rather expensive but I love using it on a special night, my boyfriend loves it too. I'm rubbish at describing perfumes but if you haven't smelt this before I would strongly recommend giving it a whiff next time you're in Boots!

Benefit - Bella Bamba:
This has become my go to blush since I got it for Christmas and I used it every single day during January! I have already posted a full review of this product, if you want to find out more about it read it click here.

Deborah Lippmann - Razzle Dazzle:
This was my favourite product from my December Glossybox. It's a gorgeous plum with chunky glitter throughout. I have used this on many special occasions recently and I'm sad to see it coming to an end. Although I do love it I don't think I'll be paying £16.00 for the full size, I don't think any nail polish is worth that!
Tangle Teezer:
This was another of my lovely Christmas presents and I really don't know how I coped without it! I used to dread brushing my hair after washing it but now I don't even think twice about it. This brush has made such a difference to my hair and I will be posting a full review of this later in the week =]
Soap & Glory - Pulp Friction:
I got this in the 'Hey Big Splendor' set at Christmas & I'm really glad I did! It's a lovely body scrub, gentle enough to be used everyday but it still feels like it's making a difference to my skin. I will definitely be purchasing this again when it runs out.

Soap & Glory - Hand Food:
This is my third tube of this amazing hand cream & I can safely say this is my favourite hand cream ever! It's super moisturising without feeling greasy & it smells gorgeous. A travel size tube of this costs just £2.35 so if you've never tried it before I strongly recommend giving it a go!

Random bits & bobs...

I decided I would start featuring a few random bits & bobs at the end of these posts every month to give you a little more insight into me other than just my favourite products every month. I set myself a challenge of reading a book every month so this should also help me stick to my challenge!

Book:
I Heart Vegas - Lindsey Kelk:
This is the forth book in the 'I heart' series and I have really enjoyed reading them. This is a great book if you want something light to read in the evening & it would make a great holiday read, certainly no thinking required!

Songs:
Beyonce - Love On Top
Flo Rida - Good Feeling

Phew, long post, gold star if you got this far!

What have been your favourites this month?

River Island Haul...

Hello lovelies! I hope you all had a great weekend =]

I popped into River Island in my lunch hour today to pick up a top and ended up splurging, oops! I thought I'd show you the bits I picked up =]
Black & Gold Slouch Bag.
£35.00.
Available here

I fell in love with this bag when I saw it & I knew it had to be mine! I've been after a new black handbag for ages and this fitted the bill perfectly. Am I the only person who gets super excited about transferring all my tat into my new bag?!
Ballet Pumps.
£18.00.
Available here

This was another one of those 'see it & love it' purchases. To be honest I think it's the gold charm I fell in love with more than anything but these will be perfect for work & look fab with some black tights.
Peter Pan Shirt.
£12.00.
Available here

I'm sorry this picture isn't the shirt in full, for some reason every picture turned out awful! I've linked the top above so you can see it in it's full glory! This is what I went into River Island for in the first place, it's just a very simply every day piece I can see wearing with everything.

Everything I bought is current season & I have included links to them so if you like anything I'm sure it will available in your local store.

I feel slightly guilty about splurging but I can see myself getting alot of use out of everything I bought.

I'm going to be doing an updating what's in my bag post v soon so look out for that =]

Review: Benefit 'Bella Bamba' Blush

Hello my lovelies, I hope you're all well!

I've always been a big fan of Benefit & I wanted this product for ages so you can imagine how happy I was when I unwrapped it on Christmas day!
Benefit Bella Bamba Blush.

Benefit say:

'Amplify cheekbones and create the illusion of sculpted features with this 3D watermelon blush. Laced with shimmering gold undertones, bella bamba is taking eye popping pretty to the third dimension...you'll never use traditional blush again!'
As you can see Benefit have greatly improved the packaging for this blush compared to the other boxed blushers & bronzers. I really like the fact it's a flip lid, no more hunting for the lid every time I use it! I was also very pleased to see that a mirror has been included as part of the lid, this is great for touch ups on the go. I also think that the brush has been improved, I wouldn't use this often but it has come in useful when I've taken it out on a night out & haven't wanted to take a proper brush.
The blush itself is a shimmery pink. I was a little bit wary about the fact it was a shimmer finish but I really don't think it's overly shimmery & I don't think it makes you look like a disco ball after applying it, always a winner! I'm not sure about the '3D' claims but it certainly brightens my face up without the use of a highlighter.
This is me wearing the blush, please excuse the awful picture, this was taken after a long day at work & I was exhausted!

Benefit 'Bella Bamba' is available here & it is priced at £23.50

I'm really interested in collecting a few more of the boxed Benefit products, what are your favourites?

Review: GHD Scarlet Collection Deluxe

Hello my lovelies, I hope you're all ready for the weekend!

I posted a couple of days ago saying that I had broken my camera, well, my boyfriend has lent me his super duper SLR and fixed mine in the process! Is it really sad that the first thought that came to mind when I broke it was 'OMG how am I going to blog?!?' =]

This is a review of one of my amazing Christmas presents, the GHD Scarlet Collection Deluxe. I was a very lucky girl and this was one of my presents from my lovely boyfriend.

As you can see the box is gorgeous. There is the outer black box with GHD printed on it & then a red satin box inside. Here is what you get inside...

GHD gold classic styler with red plates.
 Limited edition travel hair dryer.
Red heat proof satin clutch bag.
2 x GHD clips (not pictured.)

What a lovely set! & how nice is the clutch bag?! I feel almost guilty just using it to store my GHD's!

GHD Limited Edition Travel Hair Dryer:

I was so happy to get a travel hair dryer, I spend alot of time between mine and my boyfriends & I hate lugging around a big hair dryer every time. They don't call this a travel hair dryer for nothing, when closed it's so compact it would fit in any weekend bag. I thought because of it being a travel dryer it wouldn't actually be very good when it came to drying hair, I was very wrong! I actually use this all the time now because it works so well. Big thumbs up from me!

GHD Gold Classic Styler - Red Plates:

These are simply amazing. I owned a set of GHD's 3-4 years ago and I cannot believe how much they have improved. They heat up in seconds, they are a lovely sleek design that feel nice to use & they leave my hair looking better than ever. I'm the first to admit that I'm not great when it comes to hair, I've never really been very good at curling or creating any other style than straight or up. With these I can curl, wave and straighten my hair with ease. As you can see in the above picture they come with a heat resistant sleeve that slides onto the plate end, this is great if you're like me & rush out of the door after getting ready, no more worrying if your house is going to burn down!

Overall I think this is a fabulous set either for yourself or as a gift, I can't believe my boyfriend did so well choosing it!

I'm afraid I don't know the price of the set as it was bought as a gift but I'm sure it will be on the GHD website.

What is your straightener of choice?

An Apology.

Hello my lovelies.

I know I've been a terrible blogger recently, what with Christmas & New Year blogging kind of went out of the window. I finally got my blogging mojo back tonight & just as I was taking pictures I dropped my camera & it broke! =[

So I have no camera at the moment. My BF is going to lend me his super duper SLR tomorrow whilst he tries to repair mine so hopefully I'll be blogging again very soon!

Sorry for being such a rubbish blogger & I hope I'm back very soon.
