Mini MUA Haul & Swatches

Hello lovelies!

I've got a mini MUA haul for you today, believe it or not these are my first ever MUA products! I actually wanted to get some more but the stand was a mess and there was hardly anything left. I did however manage to get 4 things that I liked the look of so I thought I'd give you a peek...

MUA Lipgloss - Shade 3
MUA Eyeshadow - Shade 2 Pearl
MUA Eyeshadow - Shade 3 Pearl
MUA Lipstick - Shade 11

Left to right: Shade 3 & Shade 2.

I LOVE these eyeshadows. Shade 3 is a gorgeous gunmetal grey and shade 2 is a lovely shimmery white. Amazing pigmentation & I even like the packaging. I was really shocked when I discovered just how good these were & I can't wait to stock up on some more shades!

Left to right: Lipstick shade 11 & Lipgloss shade 3.

Once again I was really shocked at the quality of these products. The lipstick is a mauve pink shade, it's very moisturing and didn't dry my lips out at all. The staying power isn't amazing but you can't really grumble considering the price.

I LOVE this lipgloss. Shade 3 is a beige nude with slight shimmer. It's staying power is great, it's not sticky & feels lovely on the lips, I'll definitely be picking up more of these!

Lipstick.

Lipgloss.

Lipstick with lipgloss.

I'm very impressed with everything I bought & I will certainly be picking more products from this line.

MUA is available in most superdrug stores & all products are priced at £1.00.

Bargain!

What are your favourite MUA products?

I just want to clear something up, I know I don't have perfect lips & this is why I rarely photograph them. I was in an accident 10 years ago which left me quite scarred & I have since had 9 cosmetic operations on my face. This is why are they are not perfect as you can see, but meh :) I thought I'd show you anyway.

New Blog Design

Hi dolls, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

As you can see I've completed re-designed Beauty Geek. As much as I liked the previous design I was sick of my images being tiny, I wanted to show better quality images and I just couldn't do this with my previous layout.

I literally spent my entire Sunday designing everything and finally getting to a stage where I was happy.

Little tip for you if you're thinking of changing your layout: Create a totally separate blog to the one you normally use and import your posts. This will allow you to fiddle with the code and move things around until you're happy with how it looks without effecting your blog in the meantime. Then all you have to do is paste the code into your normal blog :)

My next step is to move over to my own demain instead of being a .blogspot but I'd like to have a few more followers before I do this.

I'm going to be running a 100 follower giveaway next week with lots of lovely prizes to say thankyou to you all for taking the time to follow me and for reading my rambles

Hope you all have a lovely evening!

Review: Soap & Glory - Hand Food

Hello lovelies, it's nearly the weekend, yay!

I thought I'd post a quick review on one of my new favourite products...

Soap & Glory - Hand food

I've never really used hand creams in past, I'd occasionally use one if my mum had one in the house but it was something I had never bought before until I saw this featured on some of my favourite blogs.

It's no secret that I love all things Soap & Glory, It's fast becoming one of my favourite brands and none of their products have ever let me down.

Since buying this a couple of weeks ago i haven't stopped using it, I actually bought another tube to keep in my desk at work so I'm never without it!

As you can see it's quite a thick formula, certainly alot thicker than other hand creams I've tried in the past. It absorbs fast leaving hands soft and non greasy feeling.

The best thing about this hand cream has to be the smell, it smells DELICIOUS just like all other Soap & Glory products.

Since using this product I've noticed a vast difference in how soft my hands are and I can't imagine not using it now.

I have the travel size tubes as I find these easy to carry around, they cost £2.35 for 50ml which I think is a total bargain! Available at most Boots stores.

Do you use hand cream, if so what is your favourite?

Review: ELF Eyelid Primer

I know... 2 primer reviews in 2 days... what's that about?!

But I HAD to tell you about this primer... I LOVE IT!!!

ELF Eyelid Primer

I seem to be loving ELF products at the moment, I can't resist a bargain & their products are such good quality for the price.

As you can see the primer is cream shade, it's very smooth and easy to apply and you only need the tiniest amount for each eye.

Urban Decay 'Toasted' & 'Hustle' without primer

Urban Decay 'Toasted' & 'Hustle' with primer

It's hard to show on camera but using the primer makes the shadows alot more vibrant than without a primer.

Eyeshadow without primer

Eyeshadow with primer

Again, It's hard to show exactly what this primer does on camera but I hope you can see the difference, I think the eyeshadow is alot more vibrant and stands out alot more than without the primer.

I use this primer nearly everyday, I apply it at 6am each morning before work and my eyeshadow is still going strong at 6pm when I get home. I have used the same eyeshadow without this primer and it didn't last half as long.

I cannot reccomend this primer enough, if you're a fan of Urban Decay PP then you HAVE to check this out... and the best bit?

It's only £1.50!!!

Only available on the ELF website.

What is your favourite eyelid primer?

Review: No.17 Photo Flawless Primer

Ahoy blogerinos, I hope you're all having a fab week!

I'm not usually a fan of face primers and I rarely use them but this was included in the No.17 3 for 2 offer and I thought I'd pick it up & give it a go.

No.17 Photo Flawless Primer

Boots say:

"Easy to use and effortlessly bendable, this 17 Photo Flawless Primer is designed to apply before foundation to smooth your skin and assist the application of your base, leaving skin even and fresh all day long."

I like the packaging (even though I've lost the lid to mine!) & I think it looks good for the price.

The primer itself is a clear gel like liquid, I would say it's alot runnier than other primers I've used & I would compare the texture to the Gosh primer.

I've used this primer 5 or 6 times now and I have to say I'm really not impressed with it.

I would say it smooths my skin out well and when applying foundation after if does feel smoother and go on easier. I do however think you have to use alot of product to get this effect, so even though it is fairly cheap I can see this product running out quite quickly.

I can't say I've noticed my foundation lasting any longer than normal when using this primer, this is marketed as one of the selling points of this primer and I have to say I was disappointed.

Would I buy this primer again? No.

Available in most Boots stores & online, priced £4.99 for 15ml.

Have you tried this primer, If so what did you think of it?

What is your favourite face primer?

ELF Power Brush Review

Hi dolls, hope you're all having a fab week!

So this is a review on the E.L.F Studio Powder Brush, a must have staple in any make up bag!

E.L.F say...

"This new anti bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this e.l.f. studio brush!"

The brush comes packaged really well and comes with a plastic brush sleeve, perfect for keeping the brush in shape after washing.

I think the brush looks alot more expensive than you would expect and it feels very sturdy and well made.

As you can see it has a flat top, much like a stipple brush.

I don't actually use this brush for powder, I use it for applying my liquid foundation. I use it by pumping foundation onto my hand and taking the foundation from there, I then stipple it on in circular motions across my entire face.

Pro's:

Creates a flawless finish
Spreads foundation evenly and blends it well
Price
Multiple uses, great for travelling!
Overall look & feel

Con's:

I find myself using more foundation than normal
Sheds slightly

This is a picture of me after applying 'Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation' using this brush, you'll have to ignore the tiredness, I took it at 10pm after a long day at work!

Overall I LOVE this brush and if you don't have it in your collection it is a must have!

This brush costs £3.50 and is available from the ELF website.

I actually bought 2 of these and I will be doing a post giving 1 away so if you'd like to try this brush out then check out my blog tomorrow!

3 Great Dupes for 'Miss Dior Cherie'

Hi lovelies!

I for one, LOVE Miss Dior Cherie but don't love the price tag....

£43.93 for 30ml?! RIDICULOUS!

I owned a bottle last year and was tempted to repurchase it when I got paid until I found these great dupes for a fraction of the price!

I've found 3, you'll have to let me know if you know of any others!

(Yep, my bottle is empty, simply kept for photographic purposes!)

Katie Price - Stunning
30ml - £9.95

Probably the most common dupe for Miss Dior Cherie. If you can get past the fact it's a Katie Price perfume and the tacky bottle it's actually a very good dupe. The only gripe I have with this perfume is it doesn't last very long, but the bottle is small enough to throw into any handbag.

Next - Diamonds
30ml - £6.50

If I had to pick between this & the Katie Price perfume this would win hands down. It's a better dupe, the bottle looks nicer & the perfume lasts waaaaay longer. I sprayed this at work a good 5 hours ago and it's still going strong! If you like Miss Dior Cherie then you HAVE to check this out!

Soap & Glory - Righteous Butter
Soap & Glory - Clean On Me
& many more S&G products!

Prices vary.

I know we all love S&G products so this probably won't come as a surprise, but I actually didn't know what this smelt like until someone pointed it out to me! I knew it reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it. They certainly provide a much lighter smell, but they smell lovely when layered with either of the above perfumes.

I love finding cheap dupes for expensive products!

As you can see you could buy all 3 of these products for much less than 1 bottle of Miss Dior Cherie.

Do you know of any dupes for expensive perfumes?

Hi Dolls!

So it was finally payday this week and I couldn't be more excited, I had a list of things I couldn't wait to buy.

I got a little haul happy so I've decided to split this into 2 parts, this is the beauty part and I'll post the clothing part tomorrow.

So here is an overview of what I bought. Looks alot but I grabbed quite a few bargains so I don't feel too bad *kids myself*

No.17 Eyeshadow 'Rose Quartz' - £3.89
No.17 Photo Flawless Primer - £4.99

All No.17 is on 3 for 2 at the moment so I actually got the eyebrow shaper for free :)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
Rimmel Max Bold Curves Mascara

These were 2 for £9 in Boots, normally priced at £6.99 each, bargain!

MUA Lipstick Shade 11
MUA Lipgloss Shade 3
MUA Eyeshadow Shade 3
MUA Eyeshadow Shade 2

As I'm sure you all know all MUA products are £1 in Superdrug

Loreal Elvive Full Restore 5 Shampoo & Conditioner

2 for £2.99 in Superdrug, Cheryl Cole had nothing to do with persuading me *ahem*

Glo Baby Glo UV Reactive Nail Polish - £1
Coca Cola Lipsmacker - £1.50
6 Side Nail Buffer - £1

I bagged these from Primark, the lipsmacker was an impluse buy at the checkout whilst I was waiting in the queue, tut!

Revlon Handbag Brush - Superdrug - £2.99
H&M Lipgloss 'True Beauty' - £2.99
Soap & Glory Hand Food - Boots - £2.39
