I've been changing my mind all day about this post, one minute wanting to post it & the next minute not but I've decided to bite the bullet and do it =]
After my last post I had quite a few comments asking why my face was uneven and what the scars were on my face. This is an issue I've tried to avoid on my blog. This is why I haven't posted many photo's of my face, I'm quite conscious about the fact the fact the scars show up on pictures... see below!
I was attacked by a dog when I was 9, he ripped a large chunk from the right side of my face. He was my dog and he had a brain tumour, he didn't know what he was doing and was sadly put down after attacking me. I was left with half of my top lip missing and a chunk from the side of my face gone.
I'm not going to go on and on about the various treatments I've had as I've had quite a few and it's mostly medical jargon. I probably won't have any more operations or plastic surgery now that I've reached my 20's, the recovery process takes too long and I'm not too bothered about the appearance of my scarring anymore. When I was younger it bothered me alot, my scars were alot more noticeable and people in the street would stare, this made me feeling like an act in the circus and I just wanted to hide away. Now that I'm older I take it on the chin alot easier, people cannot normally spot my scarring unless they get close and even if they do it doesn't bother me anymore.
I'm aware that this post is one big long ramble and it probably doesn't make any sense but I wanted to write this to explain why I may look slighly different in my photo's!
If you have any questions feel free to ask me, it really doesnt bother me & thankyou for taking the time to read this my lovelies.
Sarah xx

To be honest, I've never noticed any 'differences' to your face, only bloomin' jealous that you're so gorge! My aunt has terrible scarring on her lips from an op when she was young which she is still really self conscious about even though she is one of the most beautiful women I've ever met, I'm so glad it doesn't bother you anymore xxx
ReplyDeleteI think your absolutly beautiful and its inspirational to read this. Over the summer I was in a bike accident in Thailand. My right knee and shoulder got dragged down the road. Its the worst pain Ive ever felt and I am scarred. Ive accepted it, Ive had weird comment and stares but they are part of me and thats that. You have ever right to be confident your stunning!

Sarah you are beautiful... I for one have never noticed your scars before, and I am insanely jealous of how flawless your skin looks in this photo :)
ReplyDeleteYou are also much braver than me, I'm too scared to put my face on my blog too often, and am always worrying about a few spots... You have put that into perspective for me!

ReplyDeleteBless you for posting this! I would have never noticed unless you mentioned! You have what my boyfriend calls 'muffin cheeks', I have them too, it's a nickname he calls me :) It just means you have really cute cheeks which are really defined :) No matter what has happened to you, you are still so beautiful! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI think your absolutely beautiful!! xx
ReplyDeleteScar or no scar You look gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, i just wanted to let you know how much i appreciate this post. I am 16 now and when i was 4 i was attacked by a dog too. The dog belonged to my neighbour and it took a chunk out of my lip. I now have a scar on the left side of my lip. I had to have a skin graft and was left with a large scar on my thigh too. I have always been teased and bullied about it but as i have got older i don't get as much hassle anymore. I have a you-tube channel and beauty blog and like you, i do get some questions about my lip, mainly from small children!! Im totally used to it now and it doesn't bother me when people ask. I used to get very upset when i was younger though! Luckily for us we can use the magic of makeup to conceal our scars a little! Concealer, lipliner and lipstick works wonders!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand your experience and i was shocked to see how similar our experiences are! I have never met anyone before who has been through something so similar to me ! I haven't had any further operations or plastic surgery but its definitely something im interested in for the future. If you wouldn't mind, it would be great to hear your experience with that.
Thanks so much again for sharing this- its great to know that someone has been through something very similar to me! You are gorgeous, with or without a scar and i LOVE your makeup in this post! Beautiful!
I hope your having a great week and if you would like to visit my blog or you tube channel, i will leave the links for you :)
